Support Lucas County Children Services on Nov. 4

The Lucas County Children Services (LCCS) levy renewal is the only county-wide issue on the ballot on Nov. 4.

Issue 1 is a 1.8 mill renewal that is used to pay for the care of traumatized children placed with LCCS by the Juvenile Court. Should the operating levy not pass, LCCS will not have the funding needed to provide the proactive and innovative care the agency is doing to support these kids and their families.

‘We’re not asking for any purchases. We’re not asking for any innovations. This levy would allow us to maintain what we’ve always done. If it doesn’t pass, we wouldn’t be able to maintain that level of service’ | Randy Muth

I sat down with executive director Randy Muth in his Downtown Toledo office on Oct. 29 so he can explain to us the mission of LCCS, the need for the renewal levy, and the ramifications if it doesn’t pass.

This is a nonpartisan issue, and I encourage you to share this podcast episode with your friends and family, no matter their political views.

Vote YES on Issue 1 on Tuesday.
